Using a non-registered electrician on notifiable work
Only registered electricians (NICEIC / NAPIT / Elecsa) can self-certify Part P work. Anyone else has to notify building control at extra cost, or the work stays uncertified.

Rewiring without testing existing runs
Partial rewires need testing on the retained circuits. Skip that, and undocumented faults from 40 years ago become your problem.
